BOWIE-DICK TEST 134°C / 3.5 min. is a comprehensive kit designed for daily quality control of steam sterilization processes in vacuum autoclaves. The set includes a PCD (Helix) test device and 250 strip-type chemical indicators, class 2, compliant with ISO 11140-1. This product is intended for professional use in medical, dental, podiatric, cosmetic, tattoo, and beauty studio settings.

The Bowie-Dick test enables quick and effective assessment of steam penetration, vacuum efficiency, and autoclave tightness, ensuring safe and proper sterilization of instruments. Regular use of the test allows for immediate detection of any irregularities in the sterilization cycle, such as:

• insufficient sterilization temperature,
• too short exposure time,
• insufficient vacuum and number of vacuum pulses,
• incomplete air removal from the autoclave chamber,
• insufficient steam penetration in hollow instruments,
• leaks in pipelines, valves, or door seals,
• presence of inert gases in the steam supply,
• excessive condensate.

The kit contains:

• 1 Helix device – a screw-top polypropylene tube with a 1.5 m PTFE tube,
• 250 self-adhesive strip chemical indicators (class 2),
• 1 cotton storage bag,
• instruction manual with illustrated color change reference.

Each indicator strip is 6 mm wide and 38 mm long (full test with description: 7.6 cm). After a successful sterilization process, the indicator changes color from blue to pink. Exposure requirements: 134°C (+1.5K / -0.0K) for 3.5 minutes in the presence of dry saturated steam.

Application area: The test fits all types of steam sterilizers. The package contains a complete set: PCD device + 250 tests.
