Class 4 chemical indicators for steam sterilisation

Class 4 multi-parameter chemical indicators in the form of a paper strip with perforation and test substance of blue colour. Designed for daily control of the pack treated with steam sterilisation in sterilisers of various types. Multi-parameter indicators monitor time and temperature of sterilisation and the control result is read on the basis of colour change along the indicator substance strip. The reaction time of the indicator is controlled by a precisely selected, non-toxic chemical composition that is free of lead and other heavy metals.

After a correct process, there is a colour change of the chemical indicator from blue to black in the temperature range:

• 121°C / Sterilisation (exposure) time: 20 min
• 134°C / Sterilisation time (exposure): 3.5 min.

Type 4 indicator placed inside the pack, on the tray or in the bag will allow us to confirm the penetration of steam at the place where the indicator is placed. The change of colour from blue to black gives the user a visual indication of the effectiveness of the process. They contain no lead and are non-toxic, while the patented manufacturing technology of the indicator substance, ensures safety in use and makes the indicators environmentally friendly. Type 4 indicators are suitable for use in packages containing, among others, metal instruments, porous materials, rubber, plastics and cotton linen.

The size of the whole indicator is 1.7 cm x 20.5 cm, after parting: 1.7 cm x 10.25 cm. Information about the test class according to the standards is placed on each indicator and on the packaging.
