Using the labelling and archiving system provides access to full information on each stage of the process of disinfection and sterilization of a medical device.
On the label, the data are printed on three lines. The label fields are intended for the following information:
- first line: number of the sterilizer attendant (responsible for sterilization), sterilization number, package number,
- second line: date the package was sterilized,
- third line: expiration date of the sterilized package,
Method of use and reading the results
On prepared, On prepared, sterilized packs there should be applied, with the use of a labeler, a label on which information can be written, such as number of the sterilizer attendant (responsible for sterilization), sterilization number, package number, date the package was sterilized, expiration date of the sterilized package. Labels are characterized by the possibility of sticking them on and then tearing off the top layer and sticking it on again in another place (they are double-adhesive).
Printouts should be attached to packages of sterilized instruments or materials before storage. After the procedure is completed, the printouts should be removed from the packages and attached to the patient charts. A label should be affixed to the intended documentation system or patient chart immediately before using the sterilized kit.
