Type 6 emulsion chemical indicators are technologically advanced colorimetric tests. They provide a simple and accurate method to test the occurrence of appropriate critical conditions in the steam sterilization cycle. The change in indicator color occurs when well-defined parameters of time and temperature and steam penetration are reached.
STERIM Emulator 6 is in the form of a rectangular, self-adhesive paper strip measuring 65 mm x 25 mm. Pink-colored indicator substance with LOT number, production date, expiration date, is placed on a special paper, which is covered with a protective laminate.
The test meets the latest PN EN ISO 11140-1:2014 TYPE 6 standard. It is recommended to control any sterilization process.
Sterilization time:
The chemical test should be placed inside the package to be sterilized, validation package or PCD kit. After sterilization, remove the indicator and check the color change. A correct sterilization process is confirmed by a change in the color of the indicator from pink to black, then the sterilized material can be released.
Before use, store only in original packaging at temperatures below 30°C. Archiving of the test should be done away from sunlight sources. The date of manufacture and shelf life is placed on each test and on the collection package.
