RO modules prepare tap water for the demineralisation process on a mixed ion exchange bed. They consist of multiple layers of semi-permeable membranes wound on a perforated mandrel. The degree of retention of the reverse osmosis process is variable, it is 96-99%. It depends on the salinity, pressure, temperature and flow velocity of tap water.
